Teacher/Holiday Earring Gifts

GTU Friday May 22, 2015

Supplies
Beads

Findings

Headpins

Jewelry tools

Bead tray

Seed beads

Jump rings

Instructions
I like to lay my beads out on my tray to see what order I want them in.
Get your head pin and start layering the beads on with some findings in between each bead.
With your round nose pliers bend the end of the head pin around till it reaches the other side and snip off the excess with your cutters.
With the loop of the earrings there is a loop that opens up, carefully open the end and add your beaded earring onto the loop and close it so it doesn’t fall off.

Tips

I like to add all kinds of findings on the end of my earrings like feathers, hearts and seed beads; you just add a jump ring and add them to the loop in the bottom of your headpin.

4 of July "BLING"

4 of July hair “BLING”

Supplies

Flowers

Beads

Pipe cleaners

Ribbon

Hot glue

Hole punch

$ of July garland

Instructions
I first take apart all my flowers and punch a hole in the middle of the flower with a hole punch.
Next I take 2 white pipe cleaners and twist the two together to make a circle
I thread the flowers and beads onto the pipe cleaner till its as full as I want (I like mine really full).
Measure the size of head your going to put it on and twist the two ends together and I add a little hot glue to the ends to make sure they don’t come apart.
Time to add the ribbon to the back of the flower crown you can add beads to the ends to give it that cute look

Really easy and fun for the kids to help you create and wear all of July!!!

You can also add the little star garland to the crown.

4 of July Parade Bags

4 Of July Parade Bags

Supplies

Sheet protector

Duct Tape

Beads

Findings and clasps

Jump rings

Instructions
I take my page protector and cut it the size I want my bag to be, you can have any size you want.
I take my duct tape and rip the size needed to cover all the sides.
For the handle I tear a piece of duct tape and just fold it in half and fold the end around the jump ring so I can attach it to my bag.
Take a paper punch and punch a hole in the side of the bag so you can thread the jump ring through the hole, I like to reinforce the duck tape on the sides just so it’s really strong.
I add a bow made of duct tape to the front of the bag.

Time to add the little bling to the bag, I take my head pin string on the beads and add a clasp to the end this way you can clip it on your bag.

Little Tinker Pixies

Supplies

Wood clothes pins

Wooden people

Paint

Floss in all colors

Material

Ribbon

Flowers

Embellishments

Hot glue gun

Q tips

Sharpie pen

Felt

Instructions

I paint all my faces and bodies with my skin color paint.
And I like to paint the base with fun colors that match the dress.
Next I use a Q-tip and make the cheeks with a light pink.
I like to just add a small dot for the eyes, remember that everything is tiny so a little goes a long way.
For the dresses I cut a small piece of felt for the top of the dress and hot glue it to the top of the dress. You can use a piece of ribbon for this and that looks really cute.
For the dress I cut a 2 1/2 x 9 inch piece of material and gather it at the top and hot glue it on the bottom of the felt.
I like to add a little ribbon to the dress.
For the hair I cut the floss in half (this will make two) and braid the floss and tie it with ribbon and hot glue to the head
For the Tinker Pixies I just cut the middle of the flower so it will slide up the bottom and hot glue it to the bottom of the felt.
For the Tinker wings I just cut two of the flower peddles and glued them on the back of the Tinker.
I like to embellish the dresses with rhinestones and ribbon.

Have fun creating your little Tinker Pixies, your kids will play with these for hours and you might want to keep a set in your purse for the times you have to wait in a restraunt, Dr office, Church and long rides.

Cutest Yarn Easter Eggs

CUTEST Yarn Easter Eggs Ever

Good Things Utah

Lisa Berrett

Friday March 13th

Supplies

Glue

Yarn all colors

Plastic eggs

Wire

Beads

Glitter

Hot glue gun

Instructions
I first cut a ton of yarn about 3 yards each so it was ready to add to the glue.
I hot glued all my eggs together because these ones I don’t want coming apart.
I added my glue to a bowl and added a little water till I got the thickness that I wanted.
Put some paper or a garbage bag on the table to cover all the spills and drips.
Add your yarn in the glue and start wrapping at the bottom of the egg and wrap till the whole egg is covered, you can wind it so it’s smooth or make it a little crazy, both look great.
Then while the egg is still wet this is when I sprinkle the glitter all around it.
I cut my wire about 12 inches long so I can make a swirl to hang it with.
I like to set my eggs on a wire mat or hang them up so they can dry without sticking.
When its dry this is when I add some beads to the wire and tie a ribbon to the top

This is such a fun project to create and the kids have a ball…It is messy but so worth it.

Homemade lotion bars

Handmade Lotion bars

Good Things Utah

Lisa Berrett

Friday Feb 13 2015

Supplies
¼ cup almond oil or olive oil

¼ cup coconut oil

¼ cup Shea butter or Coco butter

¼ cup beeswax (I like to use just a few flakes more)

Any of your essential oils I used about 15 drops of the Tangerine.

Plastic tins, ice cube trays or plastic bottles

Instructions
1-In a double broiler add all your ingredients( except the essential oil) in the bowl and on medium heat let all the yummy ingredients melt , this will take about 15 minutes. Stirring the whole time.

2-It will be clear and a yellow color and very HOT so be so care full.

3-Take off the stove and pour into your ice cube trays or any plastic container you might have.

4- I like to put mine in the fridge for just a few minutes; it sets up really fast just a few minutes.

TIPS
I like to use the smallest ice cube trays because they make the cutest gifts and with this lotion you don’t need a lot to make your skin soft and smelling yummy.

If you want a harder lotion bar just add a little bit more Beeswax.

This recipe made 54 little bars.

The lotion melts by the heat of your hand and this little bar will last a long time, perfect for your purse. I have made several batches over the years and this is my FAV.

ENJOY!!

Little "Play Houses"

Friday Feb 6 2015

Supplies

Plastic Canvas- they come in all colors

Felt

Ribbon

Craft thread or floss

Big eyed sewing needle

Embellishments

Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Instructions
I cut my plastic canvas down just a little so it can sit on a table or your Childs lap and they can play with it.
For the houses on the canvas I cut my strips 8 of the little squares which is about 1 ½ inches wide and then depending on how big you want your house cut and sew.
I like to sew all my little houses down really well and then use the hot glue to cover the sewing and then it will last a long time.
For the roads I like to cut a strip of the canvas and sew it down or you can just cut some felt to create the roads and that’s cute as well.
Time to decorate the top of the houses with ribbon, buttons or what ever you’d like
If you want a wall around the whole little village just cut a strip of canvas and sews it on to the edge of the bottom them I like to use my Duct Tape and cover the out side.

This is such a fun little village that your kids will play with for hours and you can take it anywhere if you need something to keep them entertained.

Have so much fun creating!!!

Valentine table runners and place mats

Friday Jan 30th

Lisa Berrett

Supplies
Material

Place mats

Scissors

Glue gun and glue sticks

Olaf cutter

Ribbon

Felt

Beads

Buttons

Rose petals

Instructions
I cut my material with my Olaf cutter this way I have straight strips
I like to cut different sizes of material it gives my table runners a fun look I like to cut a lot of material at once so I can just create.
You need a lot go glue for this project but it’s so worth it.
Start at one end and kind of gather the material and start gluing it on the edge until you have gone all the way around.
For the felt roses I cut ¼ inch strips and start twisting the felt and go around in a circle twisting as you go and it will start to look like a rose. Then I use a good amount of glue to hold it together.
Add a bead in the middle of the rose to give it that cute look
I like to add a few buttons to my table runner you will just have to hand wash it so the buttons don’t come off.

Tips
You can add a small piece of felt to the back of your rose to hold it all together
I like to cut my place mats in half this way I can put it up against a wall and then you have two.
I think its really cute to use rose petals around some of your placemats.

Turn your sock inside out and sew the legs of your monkey leaving a ¾ space in-between so you can cut the legs sew till you are about 1 away from where the heal is.

Determine where you want the head and tie a ribbon around the neck.
Cut the other sock and turn and stuff. Look at the drawing to see what I mean.

Place the tail and sew in place
Now its time to pin and sew your arms.
Now its time for the face, take 3 ply black embroidery floss, stitch the smile, nose and then sew the buttons eyes. You can add eyelashes if you want.
